Can hear the air traffic on www.norcalscan.org
AA is up over the fire now, holding the air tankers, stating the smoke layer will prevent them from being able to fly the tankers.
AA over the fire, trying to hold the fixed wing at Chico base due to visibility. They have a C130 and Bae146 on base spooled up ready for a good morning punch, along with the S2. C205 is still requested in. They’ll be lifting shortly from Red Bluff.
edit: hi LTP
edit: Tanker 93 snuck up before the hold, he’s squeezing in a drop under the smoke. Also TGU sent two dozers immediate need at 0650 to “Hwy 32 at Forest Ranch” however the fire is well closer to Chico than Forest Ranch. Showing up on MODIS and VIIRS too.
Tankers are up flying the fire now.
