yes has a NE-E wind on it
Yes that’s correct
From looking at it through the lyons cam, its in the flats out near Lawson Hills road, hopefully dozers and aircraft can stop it, the valley starts narrowing the farther west you go. If it gets south of Lawson Valley road they can always try Skyline TT as another control line!
Active structure loss occurring now on the East side Lawson Valley. Talking about potential future Evacs in Dehesa. Fire intensity is really picking up with Sundown.
The fire is now spotting 1/2 mile ahead and getting more active.
It appears the main fire has caught up to the spot and taking structures in its path. Let’s
hope these winds subside and they’re given the opportunity to it nail hard with aircraft in the am.

MVUFirePhotographer, thank you for all of the great work you always do! You once got a couple of pictures of me and my partner working on the Vallecito Complex Fire in 2012. It’s rare to get photos while working, so I appreciated having them. You are always on the front lines capturing the moment for everyone. Thanks and get some rest!
4,000 acres, 0% contained and 10 structures destroyed.
Hopefully they can close the back door on it before the winds switch. Last good chance to hold if it goes East is Lyons Valley Road !!! Lots of open country between there and Barrett Lake !!!
Lets hope, starting to wake up on the cams!
She’s awake and the wind is shifting, looks to impact Carvacre soon, They have a good Firewise group in that area. Better start looking at Lyons Valley Road as a control objective !!!

It’s worth noting that no major fires have burned in the exact Valley Fire area since the Laguna Fire of 1970. So there’s most certainly an overabundance of chaparral in those areas ripe to sustain a fireline with or without a heatwave (and approaching Santa Ana winds for Monday to Wednesday…)
This situation could likely get far worse between today and tomorrow. Here’s hoping they made excellent progress despite all these unfavorable conditions!
