KSBW just reported 12 fires around the Bonny Doon area. Nothing further.

Jim, I believe that second cam (highland peak) is the Altamont landfill pile in SCU, being ran by XAL fire contained to piles
From CZU on Twitter…We have 2 new fires in Santa Cruz County. One is off Freedom Boulevard in Watsonville and one is in the Boulder Creek area off of Highway 9. Evacuations are being initiated,

Here are the latest numbers of some of the active fires burning in Santa Cruz County:
The #FreedomFire is on Freedom Road, North of Watsonville. It was reported at 8:00am, is 5 acres, burning in timber, and is 0% contained.
Nunes Road has been evacuated.
The #PantherRidgeFire on Staph Road west of Highway 9 in Boulder Creek is 5 acres, 0% contained. Evacuations are underway.
The #EmpireFire on Alba Road at Empire Grade in Boulder Creek is
6 acres, and is burning in timber, and is 0% contained. There is no structure threat and no evacuations.
The #NorthButanoFire is 10 acres, burning in timber, and is 0% contained. There is no structure threat. (San Mateo County)
The #FanningFire on Fanning Grade Road in Ben Lomond West of Hwy 9 is now 14 acres, and is burning in timber. It is 30% contained.

The Freedom Fire is also known as Nunes Fire on a lot of the social media and news. Looks like official incident name is Freedom. I have family on Larkin Valley Rd so I’m paying more attention to this one.

Boy, the area of Alba Rd and Empire were scorched pretty hard this summer. Hard to imagine 6 acres of unborn fuel around there.
