Thanks. I was wondering the same thing. I always like to know where it is so I can pre plan places to eat and the local stores for supplies (I.e. hotdogs for the line :drooling_face:)

Let’s keep this about the Boone incident, please. It is not our place or position to be calling out who is supposed to do what or where. Those are in Unit or In Agency policy decisions that are not our purview. We have seen several instances lately of armchair quarterbacking decisions on incidents not just this one. Please stick to the facts and intel about what the fire is doing and let the Unit or Agency justify what did or did not or should or should not have happened, please

Quick fix. Order up some Federal Dozers might just end up with a DZIA along with 3 HEQBs shoot most are even STEQ or TFLD qualified.

Probably ran into the mineral fire scar. Fuel turns to light and flashy in there.

Firing operations are currently in progress per radio traffic. Aircraft have been ordered early-up for 8am in the morning. No other additional updates at this time - Watch Duty reporters continue to monitor the fire.

This morning 8500 acres and 5% contained. I imagine the big jump overnight in acreage was due partly in firing ops.

These FKU west side fires like the Boone many times burn like crazy the first burn period or so then fire behavior relaxes at night with a little recovery which leads them to firing out overnight. This wouldn’t wouldn’t be the first time one has chugged out a few thousand acres the first day and was nearly over in 24 hours. We’ll see how their firing ops went…

Sounds just like the 2020 Mineral. Im sure the end result map of the Boone will look very similar to the Mineral.
