AA shift change discussion to expect significant fire growth.
Continue right flank drops along with one dozer down in drainage supporting
the indirect dozer line.
The Parkfield and Pinnacles RAWS are close enough to be representative and show temps around 100 degrees with RH 11-16%. No suprises there. The rarely used or relevant Santa Rita RAWS up at 5000 shows the strong Southeast winds aloft with sustained winds 12-17 mph gusting 23-26 mph to support the spotting. Of concern is a wind shift to light northeast/offshore tonight that could challenge holding along Highway 198.
Thanks. I was wondering the same thing. I always like to know where it is so I can pre plan places to eat and the local stores for supplies (I.e. hotdogs for the line )
Closest would be Colinga?
Given it’s an FKU fire, Coalinga would be the obvious choice.
6 private dozers and not one HEQB…
Privates can work with the agency dozers
It’s chugging away.
Let’s keep this about the Boone incident, please. It is not our place or position to be calling out who is supposed to do what or where. Those are in Unit or In Agency policy decisions that are not our purview. We have seen several instances lately of armchair quarterbacking decisions on incidents not just this one. Please stick to the facts and intel about what the fire is doing and let the Unit or Agency justify what did or did not or should or should not have happened, please
Quick fix. Order up some Federal Dozers might just end up with a DZIA along with 3 HEQBs shoot most are even STEQ or TFLD qualified.
I agree with you. Rather than focus on what should be done let’s focus on what’s being done. That’s why it is called initial attack.
Any additional orders for this incident besides the one approximately 5 hours ago?
type 1 team ordered up.
harris ranch inn is ICP.
Thats where we were for the Mineral in 2020 and will be reporting there in the am.

Firing operations are currently in progress per radio traffic. Aircraft have been ordered early-up for 8am in the morning. No other additional updates at this time - Watch Duty reporters continue to monitor the fire.
This morning 8500 acres and 5% contained. I imagine the big jump overnight in acreage was due partly in firing ops.
