Not much info. 8 acres, first reported around a day ago. Burning around 8700 feet in very steep terrain below Wheeler Crest. Watch Duty reports 3 T1 Helicopters, 1 rappel crew, 1 Hotshot crew, 4 WT’s, and 2 T3 engines assigned, but neither the rap crew or hotshots have been able to access due to winds and steep terrain.
Edit: Should probably mention it is in an east/west trending canyon exposed to up and down canyon winds every day.
