2 very short range spots visible on Mammoth 1
AA430 end route.
Tankers 105 and 121 responding.
5 acres slow rate of spread timber and heavy slash potential for 50 acres potential is extended if it crosses 395. 6 tankers on order
That such a pretty area. Did a lot of project work with my crew(OVY) planting trees(pine) and putting vexar tubing around the trees to keep the rabbits from eating on them. I hope the can catch this tonight. Wind can really blow across that area.
11 acres now
Anyone know what radio channels they’re using?
Hanging out nearby watching helicopters going between Mammoth airport and the fire.
Happy to see they are throwing a lot at this fire. Looks like a good air show on WD. Tanker 82,83
out of Columbia in the mix of air assets.
82 and 83 got diverted to the TCU incident unsure if there back yet. Sounds like MMU is forming up a Charlie at station 12, assigned to this incident.
The Ramp Fire in TCU is done looks like the tankers are headed back
One of these forest repeater channels should be the command channel:
not sure where the north/south line is for the forest comm’s
They also use the three A/G channels for IA
FS INF North 173.800
FS INF South 173.8375
A/G 24- 168.6375
A/G 41- 167.475
A/G 53- 168.4875
Just heard some chatter about hose around the fire, forward progress at about 15 acres.
WD put this fire inactive. If that the case and fire is in mop up stage. Great Job Folks!!!
Hats off to the Air and Ground and everyone in between for keeping this area beautiful and not looking like a bunch of burnt match sticks when you drive down or up 395.
