Not a great spot. I hate that Kern River gorge area.

Canyon Fire in Kern Co, Hwy 178 and the Mouth of the Kern Canyon on the Bakersfield side. P42 reported substantial fire, potential for extended attack, difficult access due to rock fall, nearly at the top of the ridge. Closing the highway in both directions.

As of early this AM they were calling it approx. 170 acres and asking for the 178 through the canyon to be closed most of the day. Also looks like 2 tankers and a air attack are already over this fire now.
