An LRA fire, it seems that is why there is a lack of aircraft on the incident.

Any CA Fire Agency can request Fixed or Rotor Wing or E/C/D under the CALFIRE Mutual Aid agreement, at no cost until the fire in contained. User to be called the “7 Points of Light”. A lot of agencies are hesitant to pull that trigger like they are going to be billed or something.but it’s nice to know they have all the resources of CALFIRE available in their back pocket it needed

Depending on the value at risk. Air resources are ALWAYS dispatched “closest resource concept” based on location.
To request someone’s resource that isn’t closest requires “creativeness” because of costs to the ordering agency.

To get resources through Cal Fire Master Mutual Aid.

  1. The requesting agency has to be below local draw down.
  2. Logistics for the requested resources are the responsibility of the requesting agency
  3. Resources have to be released once the immediate threat has been mitigated.
    EDIT
  1. The ordered resource can be kept ABH once the emergency has been mitigated. However, the billing tine reverts back to hour Zero (beginning of order)

Yup your agencies lack of preparedness/staffing etc isn’t shifted to the state.
