Update from OPS…crew are experiencing extreme fire behavior with 60 mph gusts on the east side of the fire. Fire has made its way into Sullivan Canyon and they are sending resources in the Mandeville area
Fire is backing into the 500 block of Topanga Canyon and in only 1/4 mile from impacting the Topanga Lumber and Hardware CO. This is on the NE side of the fire

Live coverage on the news stations shows it blowing up on the east side of the fire. Winds on the live shot do not look to terrible at this time. Gusty for sure but not in the 50’s or 60’s

The fire started in the LRA area of Los Angeles(LFD). It is currently burning in a majority of State Parks Land and State Responsibility Area. The fire is well over 65% in the SRA when you combine State Parks and SRA.

Watched a reporter question the LA Mayor about water supply/hydrant issues.
She did not answer the repeated question, referring to wind limiting aircraft use.
I wish she would have stated that hydrants and water systems are designed for one or two houses burning for a limited amount of time. A missed opportunity to inform!

Palisades AA was just advised he is losing all rotor wing on the fire to move to the Eaton to support vital communication infrastructure on Mt Wilson
Palisades AA just ordered 4 T1 CWN copters to replace what he lost.
NV Air National Guard got activated at zero dark thirty this morning. They’re getting the C-130s loaded with their MAFFS units today. Hopefully that’ll help with some air support. Haven’t heard how many tails they’re sending yet, but they’re coming!
Two NV ANG MAFFS have been assigned and the systems are being loaded.
8 MAFFS being activated, working out of Channel Islands. Anticipated being operational on Sunday.
