Looks like the Gold and the Hog are influencing each other! Watch the lapse of the Shaffer cam and you can see the Gold column collapse, at about the same time the Hog time lapse shows the increase in activity. Very cool to watch from a fire behavior POV but certainly thinking about all those on the line and what kind of conditions they may be facing

If you have the chance right now look at the last 1 hour of the Hamilton Mnt 2 Camera Looking at the Hog Fire. Amazing thunderstorm effect on fire spread captured by this camera.

It’s hard to tell from the angle of Hamilton Mtn cam, but it looks possible the fire crossed Highway 36 around Devils Corral this afternoon and is into the area of the 2001 Devil Fire scar now???

How far is this fire now from Susanville proper?
From the latest VIIRS & MODIS data, the fire is pushing more towards the SE.
Lassen County Sheriff’s office issued an advisory which includes the Gold Run Rd. area. Latest red MODIS point is about 3.5 miles from residences on upper Gold Run.

Heads up Command Nets might be changing around today. The Gold fire sounds like it needs Cmd10 so Cmd2 and Cmd11 are on deck for the transition on the 205 today.
