CA-LMU-Hog??

Haines index of 5 today, with 500mb temps warmer than yesterday. Multiple large storms building south of the area, unstable atmosphere conducive to large column development…

AA reports Highway 44 is ‘all lost’. Told relief AA ‘we’ve been getting our butts kicked all day’. Tankers are going to focus on west flank/heel near Susan River. North flank is lost, headed up Roop Mtn.

@pyrogeography those lines you were referring to in @CALFIREBC post are from a collaboration effort with the National Guard/CalFire/USFS leveraging a very high temporal and spatial resolution celestial asset that is classified. It’s very accurate. Code name FireGuard. Those with access can see it in EGP and SCOUT or any other geospatial platform that can ingest the feature/map service. Here is a rendering in ATAK with the Alertwildfire cam. So do remember this isn’t a direct downlink. An analyst reviews it does some tracing then publishes it. The use of these assets much like the MQ9 is under the HADR role. A great use of our tax dollars.

Taken from the Casino area in Susanville.

A lot of action on west side of Susan River, near Bizz Johnson trail today. Crews and helos been working/getting hammered east of confluence of Susan River and Crazy Harry Gulch. Fire seems well-established on west side of the river.

At about 1440 had about 30 acres on that side of the Susan, in Sec 34.

Airtankers painted a line down left flank, tied into Hwy 44. Still not looking good for getting fixed-wing into the south flank to protect Lake Forest due to smoke.

This thing aimed at Susanville? What does the next couple days look like for winds?

Western flank, on west side of Susan River, east of Fredonyer Butte is cresting the ridge, really active.

Lots of fuel reduction and logging going on between there and Susanville. Temperatures are supposed to cool down with wind speeds in the single digits all day.

Thanks good to hear.

There has been but much of it has been recent, hopefully the slash has been dealt with. Good spotting won’t care about that managment either. Crossing fingers here!
