1100 update: Troops are just now getting to the fire edge after a few hours. It’s about 20min hike in from the LZ where copters are shuttling in. Tankers are painting the ridge lines, the head and directly on the fire to keep this thing in check while the troops can get in there and get this out.

Retardant isn’t making its way through some of the canopy, ordering up another T1 rotor.

1200 update: About 5-7 acres for a liberal estimate and looking real good. Tankers on a load and hold after their paint job. 2nd T1 rotor just showed up to join the party. C205 still doing crew shuttles between the Boy Scout Camp Lassen and an LZ approx .5 mile NNW of fire.

0800 update: Jumpers and the Tahoe Hotshots slept on the line last night. Tahoe supervisor is the acting IC down in the canyon, with LNF resources on the ridge acting as point of contact with cell service, logistical orders etc. The fire is lined out at 6.9 acres but they’re not calling 100% contained yet. They’re expecting 100% today. Copter 510 up at 0930 to insert their crew, then sling missions for moving some blivit tanks around etc. KMax out of Chester for water drops.

Fire weather watch this evening over the fire for low RH and gusty winds.
