Per AA 06, 7 acres. MROS, timber slash, lower third to mid-slope.

AA lat long puts it here, 2600ft off the camera plot linked above.

Aircraft, AA06 and SEATS 850, 801, T93 off Chico, 89 off Grass Valley. Copter 205 was dispatched but cancelled shortly afterward. LNF C510 and TNF C514 responding.

Why would they Cancel 205 ?

It’s an LNF incident and with the two fed IA ships already spinning it was a good call. I bet without 514 response they would have kept 205. TGU sending dozer now.

That makes sense , thanks for the information learning something new every day

Its hard to trade out the capacity of a type 1 ship…

Those new fire hawks have been night and day difference.

1825: Sky IC reporting 30 acres, still mod/rapid ROS, still same potential.

I’m all for 205 helping out, it would have been 2nd on after the Chester ship, but it would have left the SRA with no aircraft anywhere in the north valley, all committed to SHF, HIA, or this LNF. A very strategic call, or sheer luck with the TNF ship available.

edit 1837: Sky AA reporting 45 acres, requesting addl Type 1 rotor, 2 LATs, 1 Lead. That might get them 205 after all…

Saying potential for 550 acres

1945: 60-65 acres, fire has made it to the top of the ridge, spotting ahead 1/4 mile. Flanking slowly, but where it aligns with the wind it’s progressing.

I made a very rough caltopo map of fire area, based on AA efforts. Surprised IC said it made it to the ridge, I believe the spots are on the ridge, main body is still below it. They are painting the main ridge where yellow line is, prepping for iron later this evening on that ridge. Trying to pick up spots with tankers and stair-step it back up to the ridge.

The scancal.org live scanner has been in LNF incident mode with focus on LNF, A/G and Air FM, but still has TGU/SHU locals ahead of it.

Sounds like it is closer to Jones meadow than that.

Roughy 3 miles north of Jones Meadow, right on the road above Philbrook to Lotts. Scooted the polygon on the caltopo map over a hair to the west after LNF posted an Air Attack pic on social media.

That area seemed a bit nasty with dead and down while traversing the Chips back in ‘12 if I remember correctly. Still like that ?
