The start is in a portion of unburned area from mendo complex, lots of grass on those hills before giving way to manzanita. Winds in that area are also tricky and what’s happening at lake level frequently differs from what’s happening on the ridges around the lake. There remains a good bit of dozer line from 2018 though so that will hopefully help.

Looks like an Air Attack and at least 1 S-2 over the fire now, as well as 2 requested from the Park fire.

My memory is hazy but feels like I spent a good portion of the summer of 1996 on the Fork fire in that same location.
