The fire that burned the lookout tower was the 2004 Rumsey Fire. The tower was never rebuilt and all that remains today is the foundation.

44,500 ac per morning report from CAL-FIRE 3% contained you can go to their website to get up to date info.
HELCO requesting 4 helicopters for immediate structure protection, must be belly hooked or tanked, no long lines, due to smoke conditions

Apparently the fire has jumped the 16…

According to the description in that post, it has not jumped the 16. It’s south of the 16 and West of Esparto.
That’s near the turn in the 16 where it runs West to East

Spot Weather Forecast for tonight… Potential for a northerly push after midnight till around 7 am. Wind gust around 20 mph. RH’s should be higher than originally planned for.

Hasn’t been many updates today on what the fire is doing. Wondering if it’s still pushing south towards solano or if they made significant progress on it? Not much chatter today
