Pic jstacalguy shared is from FlightRadar24 app. You should get it, It’s bad ace.
Pay the couple bucks and you can get accurate icons and alerts to when Tanker910 (or any tail #) is up!
Has anyone heard any updates on the fire? How is Geyserville doing?
The fire has had lots of tankers flying all day.
CALIFORNIA FIRE SCOPE is a good resource for the three letter strike team identification. https://firescope.caloes.ca.gov/ICS%20Documents/MACS-410-2.pdf
Actually a lot of us do and if we don’t we do a little research to learn. Since this is your first time here this will help you:

PS, your request should be posted in QUESTIONS & DISCUSSIONS
X Tahoe Basin (XTB) North Tahoe Fire, Truckee Fire, Squaw Valley, North Star, Incline Village, Tahoe Douglas, South Lake Tahoe, Lake Valley etc
The “X” in front means that it’s a mixed group of resources from different fire departments. Usually from the same county. i.e. XAL would generally be a ST from Alameda County.
All of this information, while very good info needs to be taken into its own thread. It is cluttering up the specific information at hand for the Kincade Fire.
There are generally two threads for every incident. One is for Questions and Discussion pertaining and only pertaining to that specific incident. The 2nd thread in what would be considered mission critical to the specific incident, such as size, Rate of Spread, etc. a discussion pertaining to Strike Team composition and ST designator belongs in neither of those as it is not incident specific.
Looks like winds are shifting judging by the Pine Mountain cam
WOW the long range spotting now up to 2 miles per Helco. Look at the Pepperwood East cam. This box might be getting much bigger. Squeezing the daylight out of the Type 1’s on those spots.
edit: they zoomed out the cam right as I posted. There is a well established spot way outside main fire. Largest is an acre and not moving much yet. This is right around SW aspect of Ingalls Bluff.
Yes, looks like they’re backing up. Contingency plans at Western Mine Rd which is at the western base of Mt St Helena. Believe this would be into Lake co.
Headed right towards the Mount St Helena North Camera
Scary to think what may happen with the upcoming wind event
And after what happened with this wind shift today…definitely need to keep LCES at the forefront
Western mine=lake county side
Ida Clayton=Sonoma county side
They are the same road
