Per the morning update, the fire has now burned 39,676 acres and is 5% contained. There are 561 personnel committed to the firefight, spread across 40 engines, 13 dozers, 5 tenders, and 12 hand crews. Helicopters assigned include heitankers 35S, 37S, 5HT, 3PJ and 964.

There are 55 structures threatened, and this is a full suppression fire.

The current control objectives are to keep it north of the Sisquoc River, south of the Manchesna Wilderness, west of Cottonwood Canyon and east of the Huasna River. Weather will continue to be hot and dry, with high spotting potential, and fire has been mainly fuel and terrain driven.

CA Team 5 is managing the fire in Unified Command with CalFire, the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, and the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause remains under investigation.

Containment has dropped to 3%, and the fire now has 1,091 folks assigned, spread across 51 engines, 32 hand crews, 16 dozers and 15 water tenders.
