The afternoon and evening hours are often known as the “witching hour” on many fires. In Big Sur the fires can roar all night above the marine layer where dry and warm conditions persist.
From AA: The fire hooked around the retardant line, going to go indirect to keep it boxed in.
Helicopter 530 has been added to the response.
#MillFire has burned approximately 50 acres on the Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd about 3-5 miles above Highway 1. @LosPadresNF has initiated a full response to include air resources. Nac-Ferg Rd is closed in both directions to allow fire equipment to safely navigate the road.

AA51 reporting 3-4 spot fires 1/4 mile outside the retardant line.
I heard Div M and IC talking about spot fire near Cone Peak Rd. They were concerned that it could get established by tomorrow. Unknown exact location. Div M was told to do what he could do safely.
Crews on Division M are stating the activity is already picking up and making small runs.
