There are often fires in that area that are from a natural vent. VNC has a pre-built IAP for fires in that area. Not much potential.

What kind of vent? Is there a burning coal seam or is there a natural gas venting that sometimes gets ignited?

It’s a thermal vent that moves around.

Per RE-27… E-329, ME-328 and RE-27 can handle. Fire around 1/2-1 acre in size, no ROS. Mopping up now

The areas where there are under ground fires are called locally as the “anomaly”. They are cleared of brush and grass to prevent them from spreading. This fire was on an oil lease next to a road.
