From Big Sur Kate… Per the USFS District Ranger for MRD, the Willow Fire is now between 700-1000 acres. Looking at the current column building that seems likely.

Info from Daniel Swain from Weather West…”At this rate, with a 30k foot tall pyrocumulus plume and a conditionally unstable atmosphere, there’s a slight chance Willow Fire could actually generate a few dry lightning strikes of its own in Monterey County over the next few hours.”
