30+ acres with large potential. Multiple helicopters and air tankers being ordered including 2 LATs.
CHP CAD location has it at same spot I’m seeing aircraft congregating. Just east of Goose Lake in the flats along 395 below the Warners. SEAT and S2 loading out of KFalls, T131/134 launched from McClellan. C502, C506 off Quincy, C553, C202.
RAWS Cold Springs, due south and higher elevation from incident. 74F 28RH WSW6G16
Alturas winds might be more indicative of what the flats are doing in the area, W16G21 and not letting up until sundown each night. Lakeview as well, west/southwest push gusts up to 20, until a few hours after sundown.
Air attack reports approximately 100 acres with moderate ROS.
Ground resources? All in the FRA?
I didn’t catch all the ground resources assigned, but there are currently 3 fed engines on scene from Modoc. The IC requested a strike team for tomorrow morning.
Just ordered 9 handcrews for 0800. Preferably mixed type 1 and 2.
1845: S2 has returned to Redding. A couple other large tankers arrived. As the fire gets up into the hills more, Cold Springs RAWS will be more indicative of WX conditions on the fire.
Move this over to IA and or extended attack? Seems like this is possibly going to go extended from previous posts?
