It’s an unfortunate location with all the top indicators of a large extended fire.
Draw down on resources is hitting it’s typical high level.

Extended response for all incoming and requested units. Water sources are scares. Not a good area for a fire.

Been there lots of times. Middle of nowhere too. Pot Farms all over the place too. Armed guards too. Locals DO NOT LIKE INTRUDERS. That be us.

I was walking a crew into a lightning strike out there. I was told by a group who approached they would take care of the fire and asked us to leave. WE DID. AND NEITHER MENDOCINO OR TRINTY S.O. would come out.

I have heard that area has a lot of negative energy and have been told it goes all the way back to the Trail of Tears. These are things I’ve only heard so I really can’t advise one way or another. I think I would just want to put the fire out and remain clear of the politics, but that may not be possible.

My advice? Stay out of SW Trinity county AND the Humboldt Lost Coast. Lots of guns , morons and mind altering materials.

Holding at 50 acres per Air Attack.
I’ve fought fire in the are quite a bit. It has been my experience that People, no matter where, reacted very positively to me and my big red fire engine full of water. Especially when everything they have , illegal or not, is about to be burned down. The paid departments don’t have a choice, The alarm goes off, you go.
The friction happens is when you’re sent out to do home clearance inspections…….then you really meet the angry/crazies.
