South side of the river near bagby, wind is out of the north gusts over 20mph.
Hoping to get a night flight helicopter.
Signal peak has a good view.
I.C. update was 20 acres
Copter 606 from Columbia is working the fire.
Looking at WD that’s a Hell of a area for a start. Telegraph Fire stated up the canyon from there. Crappy place to fly a ship at night bottom of Bagby !!! The ship just got back from the Putah Fire at dark. Hat’s off to the Ship and everyone else down there fighting fire in that steep, rocky, bushy piece of ground. One plus the ship didn’t have to go far for water.
Note: Ship is the Copter out of Columbia.
23 Acres total. Dozer line/handline/hoselay tied in around 0530 this morning. Ratty burn, brush not taking just dead oaks and bull pines. Lots of mop up long night.
PS the Telegraph sucked lol lots of poison oak on both.
Copy. I was on the Telegraph too. Still early in the fire season. Great pics thanks for sharing and the update on fuels in that canyon.
As was mentioned above definitely was a dirty burn…. But plenty of poison oak rashes started popping up today.
