New fire in MMU near Granite Springs. Reported fire on both sides of HWY 132. MROS. Multiple structures are threatened and Law is coordinating some localized evacuations.

Localized evacuations are taking place along the south side of Granite Springs and Hwy 132 all the way to Piney Creek per radio traffic. Mariposa Animal Control has been contacted for multiple cattle at risk.
Per the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office the fire is currently on both sides of the highway 132. If you are in the fire area, do not wait to be told to evacuate, if you do not feel safe please leave immediately. Deputies are currently in the area making notifications to evacuate.
Hwy 132 is closed in both directions.

Battalion 8 on scene approx 70 acres of grass oak woodland and chamise. Structures are threatened, setting ICP, and getting accountability of resources assigned and enroute.
The head of the fire is holding per air attack radio traffic. There is also retardant around the perimeter of the fire.
The fire is now 80 acres per IC radio traffic and they are staging the incoming units. Air attack has released 5 tankers from the fire.
