Listening to the tankers dropping on the old dozer line from 2018 Ferguson Fire and dozers starting up the bottom opening up the old control line alongside the drops. Hoping the dozers don’t push down the fuels that the tankers covered. Can they get put it in before the fire gets to it?? Then can it get support??
Remember to drive safe folks.
Fire has slopped over Footman Ridge and is burning over east side of ridge.
Looks like the Jerseydale RAWS has some heat around it, its reading 116’
Anyone know how many Charlie strike teams are pending?
I see 6 pending type 3 strike teams still
Any golf s/t pending ?
Is that Cal Fire Charlie’s?
Is the state slowing down ordering LG strike teams? Or is it just because this is the first decent fire of the season?
Just the total of Pending charlies. the IROC acronym is EST3, regardless of agency. I’m not in the know enough to know of a quick way to figure out CalFire vs others without looking at each request individually.
Likewise @Averageguy - I see 1 pending CST1 (Crew Strike Team, Type 1) and 5 pending CS12 (type 1 or 2). I don’t know enough to see if they are CalFire specific.
Of course, just the fact that they are Crew Strike Team requests points towards state resources…
My experience is that LG isn’t playing as much. Everyone in California is suffering from man power shortages.
In the old system, agency specific had to be in the request remarks. Without remarks, the request is generic. Keep in mind this is very generalized, but if it’s not immediate need, if the op area is not at draw down, probably not going outside requesting agency.
Maybe a current IROC user type person could comment.
If I am not mistaken for an general rule, state will try to request state, then OES, then LG. But IA and immediate need will be different. The Feds will typically do the same. For the state is is cheaper to pay for its own personal first then OES, and LG last. Please if I am wrong let me know. This was my understanding.
Tonight’s 209 listed the following critical resources:
20 strike teams Type 3 engines; 15 strike teams Type 1 crews; 25 dozers; 20 water tenders; 15
DIVS; 4 OPBD.
We sent out XSN2376C this afternoon as a LG type 3 ST to the Oak Incident. They are filling orders from a myriad of resources, and I don’t know that they are being overly “particular” regarding Fed vs State vs LG resources. It’s never as quick as everyone wishes it were, but my understanding is our CA system is as good as anything else out there. Keep in mind the size of the State, the amount of resources to be managed, and the expected paper trail that goes along with it.
Plenty of federal resources that will go, but unfortunately we are at draw down everyday, so we can’t leave.
XNE 4103C enroute at 0300 tomorrow.
Tnk911 making drop and 132 will be last drop…pumpkin time
What are critical resources? Is that pending resources or resources assigned to the incident?
