The Forest wants to do all the work correctly without having any impact. If all the work gets done, Miami will open for the 2022 fire season.”

Mariposa just punched out 5 additional CF Engines C3 to the incident.
If it continues to develop today as it seems to be right now, it would be highly probable to see a CF Team assigned today. As of right now, I don’t have any direct intel on if or who would be in line.
I believe CalFire team 5 is on today, CalFire team 6 is up tomorrow

Does this fire have lots of potential to be the next campaign fire . Unfamiliar with the area where the fire is burning in
Yes. It’s a mix of timber (higher up) and oak woodlands with some rough river canyons. If it decides to turn and run up the Chowchilla river canyon, it has the potential to get real big.
The River fire is burning in oak Woodlands lots of grass and very little roads if it gets into one of the drainages like the Chowchilla river or Fresno river it can become more complex due to topography to get around. And to the east of the fire is the Coarsegold area with more smaller properties with homes on most of it. Hope I gave you a decent picture!

There is fire history in that area most recent was 2005. But is was small compared to this. This was my home unit for my first 7 years. and I use to always marvel that area when we went to service Deadwood Lookout looking for fire scars on the tree bases as we went up there from the Harlow fire and looked at the scars across the range. if it gets to Road600 {Grub Gulch Rd} and Twin sisters, it will be difficult to deal with on that west facing slope.
Would you say it’s dozer & handcrew county or type 3 be helpful . Wasn’t sure on access if it’s like one way in one way out area . Sorry for all these questions
Unfortunately you won’t be able to stop it on the West slope of Potters Ridge. Nasty country. If it come over that Ridge or through windy gap the prevailing winds will move it along the North slope of deadwood right towards my house. I get that wind everyday with a few exceptions.
What is the typical wind direction for that area ?

It comes up through Windy gap blowing Southeast to East.
