Yes they are, repaired them all 2 years ago
I remember getting shot at and jumping back in the stake bed from FKU meanwhile a pavement queen got stuck trying to go up a ridge east of us all on the day before my ccc crew demobed off that fire. On top of that we got lost and ended up way east of the burn.
Looks to have a little inversion layer but starting to burn slightly on the south facing slopesâŚ
From my past AA experiences there, the airtanker drops near Tecate have been entertainment for the kids in Mexico. Before the new Border Wall, it was a barbed wire fence. We could expect them to light more fires on the US side near Tecate just to watch our airshow!
T-134 Border dropping
Frequencies today: XSD CMD 3, Vfire 22, CDF A/G 2
ST 9330C: B4, 3381, 3377, 3382, 3392, 3353
From MVU Twitter: After patrolling the border region from the air the IC is reporting that there has been a significant decrease in fire activity. CAL FIRE will have a strike team staged in the area throughout the day should conditions changes.
Border 8- Fire still in Mexico, but jumped containment lines making a hard run towards Tecate, Mexico
9330C reassigned to Border 9 Inc
Border 8 appears to be making a hard run into the states???
Fire has slowed down in a green belt just south of Tecate. Will be slowly making its way through that and in alignment with a drainage that will push it into the U.S. tomorrow morning.
MVU sending ST ty3 to help stop fire in Mexico. Need to protect Tecate and not let fire cross and damage important radio site on Tecate Mt.
We used to do that often. Sometimes purposefully, sometimes youâd be laying hose all night then realize youâre in Mexico the next morning.
Been there, done that. Went to a big fire at a Tecate lumberyard back in the 70âs. Used hydrants nearby from the Tecate Brewery. Then we had late Mexican dinner hosted by the Tecate Fire Department, which included all the beer we could drink.
