Any idea what really happened on this fire? I came through here half an hour after the last update. Saw an engine in the trailer park at the top, and a whole lot of cars parked along the road at the top with people in them. I saw an insurance co engine going in White Oak and another one at the river but nothing else seen anywhere near the river. It appeared the activity was by the trailer park.
There is a large property behind the trailer park. The owner had someone back there mowing tall dry grass. The fire burned 9.7 ac. The only loss was about a dozen fruit trees in a neglected orchard. If it were not for aggressive initial attack and availability of resources in the area there would have been damage to the residences in the trailer park.
My niece’s family use to live back there, and “neglected orchard” is a great description of the property.
Gotcha. I was confused because everything said at the bridge but the activity was nowhere near the bridge.
