Evacuations in place, fire is rapid rate of spread, calling for 2 more dozers and 4 more tenders. Fire is making a good push south with light winds. Helicopters making drops,at heel of Fire.

Fire is reporting multiple spot fires, full wildland dispatch on order. The fire is on East Bennett Road, burning at a rapid rate of spread. Calling for 4 type 1 air tankers and 1. Lead.
Evacuations whispering pines, Idaho Maryland, Dorsey at 49, Sutton way, Sierra Nevada hospital and Dorsey nursing homes can shelter in place. Also Brunswick way evacuations.
Winds pushing fire North. Air craft stacked up at GV getting loaded with retardant. 55 acres can possibly make to 100. Large tankers on order.

Fire boxed in with retardant. One tanker circling, 4 helicopters dropping water. All other tankers to be released. Expect release last tanker shortly.

Canceling 3 water tenders. 80% containment. 4 helicopters still on fire. Might start releasing soon. Fixed wing aircraft released.

Good stop by all
Firefighters are starting to mop up further in from the fire perimeter. They are checking for hot spots, smoldering stumps. There will be a night shift on the fire. Road closures due to the fire remain in effect. Canceling some resources that haven’t arrived at the incident. Helicopters making last drops.
All Hwy 49 on and off ramps to reopen shortly.
IC and Operations are planning for the night shift. Still a lot of smoke and some active flame within the fire perimeter – and no report of structures destroyed.
