Rough cross with Jacob’s Ladder and Siller Bros. Tower puts it somewhere along Willow Glen Rd. north of Marysville Rd.
Any info?

Just came up on Yubanet. Meadow Lane at Willow Glen Roads. It’s in Yuba County, not Nevada.
Based on AA on Flightradar24,
Looks like Willow Glen rd. @ Pine Ridge dr.
East side of Willow Glen for now?

Yep. It’s running hard.
40 acres, long spotting toward French to town. Many units being called from River and Iowa fires. Evacuations in process.
Not a good place for a start given weather conditions
AA just stated 100 acres, long range spotting, likely going to extended attack. Also ordered a handful of equipment, I didn’t get the particulars.
Playing around with Beta AlertWildfire, the customized tile view is a pretty cool feature to get multiple aspects in one window.

KCRA has live footage on their facebook feed.
Per radio traffic, started as a vehicle fire.
Anyone catch the resource order?
Any update? Or what strike teams got assigned?
Of late, there has been an increasing call for LAT’s and even VLAT’s early on in IA or early extended attack. I’m glad to see the idea that, yes the up front costs may be a little more, but in the end, huge benefits are gained. The River fire and now this one, the Glen fire, LAT’s and VLAT’s were called for early on in the firefight and have kept the potentially large fires from going extended or to major. Kudos to the decision makers in this, another potentially hellacious year!
The proximity of these fires to tanker bases and sources of water most definitely helped, that and some very hard charging boots on the ground. Strong work to all that got the jobs done. Keep hammering folks it’s gonna be a long second half. Stay safe.
Image is from the the Oregon House camera at 1958 hrs. Another great job stopping what could have been a very significant fire. Lots of rough country with steep narrow canyons up there.
