Watching the copter footage, not going so well. Chewing through retardant lines and lots of short range spotting. Also please remember and share, always have your rig pointed out in the direction to leave the area. Can see at least two type 6 that pulled forward into allies between houses.
Watching this fire from the copter coverage clearly shows why firefighting aircraft are not the lone ranger with a magic bullet. This fire chewed through, burned around and spotted over retardant lines constantly. Without the engines, dozers and one Grader, this fire would still be rolling fast and hard. Yes, someone on a large grader, operator looked like they had some fire experience did a fantastic job pushing line in the grass directly behind houses.
