Up in Modoc county, west of the town of Likely. 35 acres, moving to the east with winds from the west at 11 mph.

Lots of tankers being put on it and a gaggle of helicopters. T181, T133, and T121 are the LATs. CalFire’s apparently still short on S2s at the moment, only T94 (& T93) on this.

It’s a Fed incident past the initial dispatch, pretty common to prioritize contracted Fed tankers if available.

True, but there also aren’t any S-2s in Chico at the moment, which is why T181 is taking over their work. They’ve been up a couple of times on little jobs you’d expect the S-2s for.

CAL FIRE has multiple Aircraft on EU Contract again this season
Type 1 & Type 2 AT, including T181
Type 1, Type 2, & Type 3 Helicopters. Including 3 night flying Type 1 that start as late as 1500hr each day and 1 T3 Night flying Helco platform.
Finally, 1 Contract AA and 1 Intel ship

Judging by the cameras, activity is decreasing. I’m sure they will get around it tonight.

Interesting area to fight fire in. Interesting & challenging wind profile profile out there sometimes makes life difficult and then some. I like it when sun goes down & fire goes out in that country. Unfortunately that isn’t always the case but when it happens its a good thing.. Imo. :nerd_face:
