Susanville dispatch is struggling to fill any orders. The fire is rising on North Ops priority list, so the fire is getting more aircraft assigned on it. Still haven’t heard if there’s any rotor wing on it’s way.

For those that don’t know the massive urbanscape called the NOD…

W-5 is about here, E of Madeline, south end of the Warner Mountains.

Best part of the NOD response area was covering 3 different GACCs, the old back door out of the region if we made it to Oregon or Nevada. Any word on the fire pushing towards susanville? So many threads up haven’t seen anything yet,

The fire pushing towards Susanville is the Sheep. There’s a thread for it. And yes, the NOD has a very interesting response area. Makes it fun

The IA thread for that fire is PNF-North Complex I believe.
NOD-W-5 has location linked in Norcalscan post just above Mmastrof post.

Really blew out yesterday. Continued pretty well through the night and blowing up again today.
52,000 acres last report, but she’s chew’n up acres fast. containment down to 10%, was at 20%.
Red flag warning tonight.
Looks to be into Nevada state,
and almost to Surprise Valley road near Bare Ranch if not there already.
Fire now being called W-5 Cold Springs.
Even though there’s not much population out there, I still hope they get some help soon.
