CA-ORC/CNF-Airport???

Sorry Zeke for stealing your show, but here’s a time lapse of the veg from 2016 to 2023. There is a strong legacy of high severity fire, and the veg composition and density definitely reflects that. Of special note is that the imagery was taken mid-Holy Fire in 2018.

Aaaand thats why we have Project Activity Levels. But no seriously, does the county not have their own equivalent? And where were the additional precautions with explosives and fire hazard in a dry winter that caused the Jim Fire in 2022?

Great work put in overnight on Santiago Peak:

The southwestern flank of Santiago Peak wasn’t fired off last night, and doesn’t seem to have gotten any brush clearance or retardant treatment yesterday. It’s now got fire in the drainage below. Interested to see what crews do in case the fire runs up towards the peak.

6 type 1 strike teams (30 engines), 2 type 3 strike teams (10 engines), and 2 dozer strike teams (4 dozers) have been requested to the areas of El Cariso and Lake Elsinore by incident command. 1 additional very large air tanker (VLAT) and 1 additional large air tanker (LAT) requested by air attack.

I’m surprised that order didn’t happen overnight. Either CF or FS

That chunk of growth to the south in Hot Springs Canyon is a gnarly piece of terrain in a Roadless Area. Last recorded fire in the upper watershed was in 1980 with the Indian Fire
