Looks like it
Wind picking up locally. Possibly due to thunderstorms in North Reno-Stead. The wind seems to have knocked over the plume somewhat, may be contributing to some spotting.
Noticed evacs have been expanding.
Was looking yesterday with no luck, does anyone have a good scanner link?

Two distinct columns formed this afternoon
Yes - WatchDuty was able to spin a couple up last night out of Quincy I believe. I haven’t had a chance to listen today but the primary one should be here covering PNF, and there is a second one with the extended air freqs and ground tacs, but not sure if the receiver is in range. I’m hearing traffic control of sorts on the second link.

A few maps starting to populate on the FTP site. Looks like early this mornings intel flight.
Per Watchduty, theres a “Spot” at the heel, looks some slop on the cam, being worked by some copters
Are those spots or holdovers from the lightning?
Looks to be pretty close to the black there, slop on the Right Flank near the heel would be my guess

Just got back from a run to Reno and the smoke seems to have drifted significantly to the west. No thunderstorms in Reno yet, so maybe caught a lucky break (outflow winds - I watched The Lookout breakdown!)

Morning update from Plumas National Forest:
Mill fire…
Aggressive 24-hour suppression activities continued, with crews focusing on building dozer and handline to protect structures and critical power lines. Night-capable helicopters were utilized overnight to help cool spot fires. As of this morning, much of the fire has line around it. However, these lines need considerable improvement and work before the fire will be considered contained. Winds are anticipated to test lines today, and evacuations are expected to be held through the day.
