Fire in City of Riverside. 5-10 acres, wind driven in light fuels with RROS and structures threatened. IC has made this a 3rd alarm. Potential of 40+ acres
Resident at 6951 Jones Ave stating fire is about to impact his home with multiple gas containers. No engine in the area as of yet per IC
2nd view…
IC requesting 4th alarm and 5 closest any type engines
Is this the Tyler fire?
Intel 24 en-route. Since this is RIV and not RRU no aircraft have been requested yet. Looking a little sporty on the Cams.
No…been listening since the beginning and its the Mandalay IC. WD has not updated fire name yet. I think they guessed based on the initial fire location
reminds me of the Hawarden fire, where activity was moving way faster than the IC could adapt too
IC says they are working on a large resource order. IMO its way late in the game for that with fire conditions on the cams
I’ve only heard the 4th alarm resources and the 5 additional closest. Nothing since then
WD has it as the Tyler Fire.
They are wrong! I’ve already explained myself as to why.
RIV Batt.1 is IC and RIV Batt 2 is OPS. ICP is on Tyler south of Jurupa
Per IC fire is 10-15 acres…I think that is very low based on the cams…and he states they are still on the phone with CALFIRE trying to work out aerial assets for the fire.
Looks like Watch Duty corrected this to Mandalay. This absolutely the Mandalay Fire.
Per IC they are requesting evacs for all of Gaylord, Eureka and Mandalay addresses
Per IC they are getting 5 engines from CF
There are already 5 engines and a BC on scene from Riverside County. I wonder if they are confusing CAL Fire (state) with CAL Fire (county.)
To riverside city thats the same enity
IC asking for 2 airtankers and 1 air attack from calfire
Per IC they were just advised 2 AT’s and an AA are enroute
I think the 5 any type engines from 30 ago are different than the 5 CF engines. I’ve listened to a lot of fires and it just sounds like RIV is being very cost concious
This would all be covered under MMA and CFMA other than the aircraft….
I get that. Just giving my opinion based of radio traffic. SND would have asked for the national guard for a 3 acre fire. Different fire management for sure
