2 acres in the Santa Ana River with potential for 40 acres. This is at Santa Ana River X Van Buren. Full response including aircraft. IC states access is difficult and units will be committed for some time.

RRU has Copter 301 assigned, it is the first response for the new FireHawk.

The wind also switched on them and the fire is pushing the other direction and picking up steam.

IC requests five Type 1 engines to staging for a structure threat, and three Type 3s due to a wind shift. IC has also requested a second Copter.

The fire came out of the river bottom and hit the light grass. The fire is running up to structures. RRU has type 1’s engaged in structure defense. The fire is throwing spots 1/4 mile ahead into grass.

Riverdale Place and Kennedy Street for immediate evacuations.

IC reporting a spot fire outside the line and requesting a copter back to the fire, plus 5 additional engines, 2 hand crews and 2 water tenders.

The spot is now 5 plus acres with potential for another 100 acres. The wind is also increasing pushing to the north. IC requesting a 2nd copter and AA.

Nope,this fire is east of Corona, between Jurupa Valley and Norco.

Known affectionally as the “RB” or river bottom. Not a fun place for fire or medical aids. Large amount of homeless live in the RB.
