Per WatchDuty: “Half acre vegetation fire w/ moderate rate of spread in light to medium fuels & potential for 15 to 20 acres per an engine at scene.”
Riverside Emergency Management Dept have been requested for evacuations. The fire is now 10 acres w/ moderate rate of spread & there will be a structure threat in the next 10 to 20 minutes per Incident Command. 10 additional engines + 1 water tender are being requested.
Structure threat may be the Jurupa Valley Mountains Discovery Center, as the wind is blowing North and East into that direction.
AA-330, T-70 & T-71 enroute from Ramona. Copter 607 is on scene.
Copter 607 said 4 acres in med/heavy fuels w/ slow to moderate rate of spread, structure threat in ~20 mins. Had to replay back my recording of the CCTVs to confirm what they said. WatchDuty confirmed this statement as well.
Engine(s) requested to residential address 7373 Rocky Point Rd by Dispatch. Hopefully all is good there. That is East about a block to the Jurupa Valley Mountains Discovery Center I mentioned earlier.
