No divert on airtankers due do immediate life threat

Sounds like the fire is going to threaten structures at the head off of Avenida La Cresta soon.

300 acres with potential for 2,000.

AA is optimistic about catching this if conditions remain the same

Silly question, but anyone knows why they named it Volcano? I couldn’t really find a street/landmark that’s named Volcano…

My guess is that it’s just off of the road Via Volcan. They decided to throw an “o” at the end. Haha Someone please correct me if my ignorance is showing through

Correction: the map I was looking at left the “o” off Via Volcano.

The initial dispatch placed the fire at Via Volcano and Tenaja Rd. That is likely the reason for the name.

That is the reason, and over the years there has been 3 or 4 Volcano Fires in the same area.

Mapped at 137.4 acres. The heavier vegetation on Santa Rosa plateau must be pretty moist still and thus put up a ton of smoke which was deceptive.
