New fire in SDU with smoke showing in Witch Creek East of Ramona, Dispatched as a structure fire and then upgraded to Vegetation fire. No size up yet but good column showing.

This was initially dispatched as a commercial fire at the Pine Hills Egg Ranch. Several huge new indoor chicken coops in the area.

IC cancelling crews and dozer as well as aircraft. Continue all ground resources
I have seen numerous chicken coop and barn fires recently in the mid west where 18 million chickens perished. Never imagined it here.
IC stating 40000 sq foot building fully involved.

Sounds like they are using Copter 12 for water drops on the structure fire. Also sounds like the Tankers will drop some mud on the East end to keep it out of the grass.

Per IC… defensive on the main involved structure. Exposures on both sides of equally big coops are a concern
