McCain ic 10-15 acres pushed by the wind and will probly jump the freeway. Immediate evacuation for De Anza springs
This was dispatched as a vehicle fire then a TC then a TC and Vehicle fire into the veg. It was reported as WB so this fire is already on the north side of the 8. Prevailing winds look to push it north and east the onshore flow from the SSW
Spotting over the freeway + dangerous rate of spread per air attack.
No recorded fire history in this particular spot outside of a tiny stoker in 2014 that is already outsized by our new friend. This fire has potential.
Actually my bad…rollover was in CD and has now jumped to north side of the 8
Watching the camera, it looks like the wind just shifted about 90 degrees. Can anyone confirm?
Don’t really see that. This area is so far inland the marine influence is almost nothing. Winds should stay out of the SW/SSW. They might change after sunset as the diurnal winds pick up. Almost no/little RH recovery tonight.
100+ acres.
Does anybody know what team is up next? I’m anticipating this fire becoming extended.

thanks for the White Star HPRen link. Doesn’t look like it’s close to the Goat Mtn trestle yet. That is a historical site for the state. fromNews 8 Cam it’s well north of De Anza Resort about to impact the first train tunnel on the old Tecate RR. we use to do PT hikes back there in the winter When McCain Camp was still open. on occasion.
