If it’s on the east side of the 15, that would be on Camp Elliot… lots of room to the East.

Full aircraft response requested from Cal Fire including Tankers. It does look like the camp Elliot side of the base near Pomerado.

Not much has burned on the Elliot side since 2003.

AA 2CG with Tanker 70 and 73 en-route. The fire is just starting a run up canyon and is picking up intensity.

The fire is mapped at 105 acres currently. Looking a lot better as the fire hung up on dirt roads. A 4th strike team was requested.

Fire mostly ran into a burn scar from about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday’s fire in red. The older one in green.
You can also see a burn scar from a 50ish acre burn in about 2020 just to the south.
So there are some good holding spots out there. Challenge is the KV lines. (And getting people out there)

The northern edge of the fire was my division and crews did a phenomenal job catching it on that access road as it began backing down into Sycamore Cyn. Did have a few downstrikes from the towers, we thought it may skunk down hill beyond the towers as the burn scar was south of us.
