Lightning fire in area of Whale Peak.
Aircraft assigned: A652, T71, T72, H603, C12
ASTREA in route to help recon
Per AA: 1/4 - 1/2 acre, SROS, light-medium fuels, potential of IA.
In the State Park and may not be able to drop retardant. AA ordered up another Type 1 copter.
Cannot fathom a continuous fuel model out there, and hopefully no one is hiking in there today
Was in Borrego last week for 4 days, it’s dangerous
FROS stopped at only 1.5-2 acres.
Curious, dangerous, how so? Steep w loose gravel like surface kind of dangerous, again just curious. Very little if any shelter from the elements. Looks like the fire is still creeping around. Any boots on scene yet? Should be fairly easy to control.
I think dangerous was refering to the heat out there , 110 plus. Access is very limited unless your part mountain goat
