Saw a post somewhere on social media that they were insisting it was because of a firing op. Can’t find it now. :woman_shrugging:

Credit Watch Duty;
The Shoe Fire is 3,937 acres with 7% containment.

CURRENT CONDITIONS: Last night, crews made significant improvement with control lines and firing operations. Ground crews carried out defensive firing operations, which entailed burning unburned vegetation between the fire’s edge and control lines. Dozer teams continue to make access towards contingency lines removing fuel that can increase fire behavior. With incoming moisture today, crews have opportunity to hold and improve control lines in preparation for this week’s wind event. Minor fire growth was reported in the north end of the fire which will be a priority for the remainder of the day.

A pacific storm moves through today bringing cooler temperatures and higher humidity levels with possible showers and thunderstorms. Gusty and drying northerly wind develops Thursday and persists into Saturday leading to critical fire weather conditions, with the strongest winds expected Thursday and Friday night reaching wind gusts up to 35mph.

Incident Management Team 13 has taken command of this fire.
Resources include 14 helicopters, 17 crews, 47 engines, 23 bulldozers, 21 water tenders, 1 masticator, and 1 excavator.

***** Red Flag Warning in effect from 2300 Thursday through 1700 Saturday *****
WEATHER: A weak frontal system will bring cooler conditions and higher RHs today with isolated to scattered showers in the general vicinity but unlikely to bring much precipitation to the fire area. Breezy winds out of the W-NW will develop along the ridges with afternoon S-SW up-canyon winds continuing during the afternoon but somewhat suppressed due to cloud cover through much of the day. Skies will clear rapidly tonight with developing N-NW winds beginning to dry out the airmass in advance of strong offshore flow Thu-Sat.
