fire is burning at a rapid to extreme rate of spread. It is currently 40-45 acres with 1/2 mile spotting ahead per Shasta-Trinity NF firefighters

Per a WD update referencing a Facebook update from SHF, the fire was lined with hand and dozer line by midnight last night. Smoke production has also greatly reduced on cams: ALERTWest - Pickett Peak Lookout 1. The most recent area is 105 acres.
