This fire was reported on this morning N.Ops intel :
“180 acres, timber, 7% contained. There an Evacuation Warning in place for the Deerlick Springs Resort. There is also a threat to private private timberland. The fire is burning in steep rugged terrain with heavy dead and down fuels.”
I have not been following it with my focus in my TGU backyard, but it’s close enough to glance at once in a while since Platina went into an Evacuation Warning a few days ago. I think the bulk of that was due to TGU-Elkhorn, but I’m sure SHF-Spring was a consideration in that whatever influence was blowing Elkhorn, would likely blow Spring as well.
They have enjoyed some fixed wing and clear air off and on this last week.
