Bad news if it gets into the 25 year-old plantations about 2 miles upslope - they are tons of contiguous thick fuel, and areas that have been pre-commercial thinned look like they could have a ton of red slash in them.

Major alignment in this neck of the woods. Sure that many of the users here can tell us stories about the epic run the Fountain Fire made in the same area.

Scancal live scanner has had SHU and the Carr fire (Cmd2, Air FM and A/G) on priority. It will have this IA fire but it’ll be tucked in with Carr traffic. Also their east side tones often have a lot of multipath into my radio.
IC requesting SO for evacuations, fire is making a hard push towards Crest Line Dr. Ordering 5 type 3 engines & 5 type 2 engines for structure protection. Also now adding on 4 dozers, 6 handcrews, 6 water tenders & 3 type 3 engine strike teams.

Not a done deal by any means, but air Force and ground troops did great job getting around this. Numerous spots as far as 3/10 east.
Access road is called Windy point because, subsidence from the cooling off the Burney basin pours into the pit river drainage, then comes around the corner near the incident, ultimately pouring into the Sacramento valley. It will be wind tested between now and early tomorrow morning.
