Hwy 299 long term closure around the Lake due to traffic accident. WB is closed at Buenaventura in Redding. EB undetermined, CHP enroute from Weaverville.
Dozers enroute from TGU.
ST of type 3’s enroute from TGU.
2 more Dozers and a ST of crews now on the road from TGU.
I believe they defensively fired off the JFK Memorial Drive during Carr fire to protect the Park HQ. If I recall it was a much lower intensity burn than typical Carr burn scar in this area. This fire has spotted into this area with plenty of fuel still. Large structure defense setting up for Park HQ.
Additional response of ST of Crews from TGU.
Ukiah and Chico tankers released, Redding tankers on load and hold.
FIRIS mapped 34 acres
Another fast aggressive IA and the results are showing. Nice stop!
Hwy299 opened about 40min ago with one-way traffic control right near the fire area.
Four type1 rotor working the heavy fuels assisting with mop up. My last post unless conditions change.
I agree, strong work on IA and getting ahead for structure defense!
