California Incident Management Team 8 assumed command of the fire on July 4, 2025, at 7:00PM. The fire is in Unified Command with Los Padres National Forest, Bureau of Land Management, and CAL FIRE San Luis Obispo Unit. The fire remains active with wind-driven runs that allow for continued fire growth to the southeast. There were areas of perimeter growth and intense fire on the northwestern and southeastern sections. Within the perimeter, there were isolated pockets of fire and large areas of scattered fire.
Weather
The current forecast calls for minor warming and drying through Monday where interior areas will see temperatures in the high 80s to mid-90s with humidities ranging between 5 and 15 degrees. Winds are expected from the southwest to northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph across the interior valleys and mountains with isolated gusts up to 40 mph in the Antelope Valley foothills.
